Many thanks to Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer for welcoming the TY local History class back for a Q&A with Retired Station Officer Joe Traynor and former CBS student and current Station Officer Corabh Wise. Traynor brought photos and books to show how the station started in 1939 with just one fire engine and 10 officers including a postman who naturally knew all homes and addresses like the back of his hand. The students got to compare and contrast old and modern helmets and even sit into the 1956 engine preserved at the station. Station Office Wise shared his journey from CBS to the fire and rescue service. He also underlined the importance of road safety and truly being brothers together in supporting each other through lifes ups and downs.
