We are delighted to announce that Alex Cullen (Leaving Cert 2025) has been awarded the Quercus Entrance Scholarship in the College of Medicine and Health at University College Cork. This scholarship recognises exceptional Leaving Certificate achievement and academic potential at the point of entry to university. Alex, who is now studying dentistry, received the award at a UCC ceremony on 3 December. He was joined by his parents, while Dr Jonathan Murphy attended his alma mater on behalf of CBC Kilkenny.
Alex has also been selected as a 2025 UCC Sports Scholar for Athletics, an award that supports high-performing student athletes as they balance competitive sport with the demands of university study.
These accomplishments reflect Alex’s dedication across both academics and sport. The school community extends its warm congratulations to him and his family as he begins the next stage of his academic and athletic journey.
