Many thanks to Kilkenny Mayor Cllr Joe Malone for his hospitality at the Tholsel today. We enjoyed signing the visitors’ book, trying on the ceremonial robes and chain with all previous mayors inscribed. Mayor Malone took questions on how a mayor is elected, the impact of the 2014 Local Government Reform Act and parking charges. We spotted former CBS student Peter de Loughry’s photo on the wall of mayors.
