Last week our TY History students visited Wolfe Tone’s gravesite at Bodenstown Graveyard, Collins Barracks and the Pearse Museum in Rathfarnham. Highlights included the Barracks Life Room, experiencing reconstructions of soldiers’ quarters from the 19th and 20th centuries, Pearse’s office before the 1916 Rising and the Harry Clarke’s Stained Glass exhibition. This trip offered a unique opportunity to connect with Ireland’s path to independence and understand its impact at home and abroad.
